I've tried most of the major players in the purple (and blue!) shampoo market. From dyeing my hair blonde early on in university to a silver tone in later years... then I went bright red... now I'm back to a blonde with some warm tones through it, I've tried to keep my hair healthy as I can while still being the shades I crave. From two and three-step systems, colour depositing products, sprays, masks... you name it: I've tried so many!
I was asked if I'd like to try the So Silver collection from Matrix and decided to give it a go!

Matrix aims to help you achieve and keep your hair the shade you love! Right now I have highlights and a semi-permanent red around my roots and blended throughout. I typically go to the salon every 10 weeks (a bit longer between sessions than many blondes). I'd recommend using a tone-neutralizing product around once or twice per week and starting soon after the dyeing appointment to ensure great upkeep.

I want to note that I try to limit my use of neutralizing products to ensure I don't lose the red undertones in my hair. I am mainly trying to get rid of the brassiness in my blonde strands. As you can see after the mask, the blonde pieces are brighter. I have the "money piece" colouring in the front where the most forward strands of hair that surround my face are the blondest. It was easiest for consistency to show the back but you can look at my Instagram stories for video of the front! Using a product like this once a week is typically plenty for me if I am using a purple product the week right after visiting the salon.
Something that I like about the Matrix brand overall is their wide variety of products. I have thin and fair hair that is naturally a darker blonde or light brown under where the sun doesn't naturally lighten it. If you have thick curly hair, there is also a collection for you! Their price point is mid-range so it has to potential to be accessible for most people.

My favourite product in this collection is definitely the hair mask. It does not dry my hair or scalp out as some other neutralizing products have done in my past trials. It gives a bigger positive result more quickly than just the shampoo and conditioner. This one is great if you need a boost before an event! I've tried other neutralizing masks that leave a residue but not with this collection from Matrix! My hair felt as light as it does after a great salon blowout! I genuinely would recommend this specific product to others looking for something to neutralize any unwanted yellow tones.
